ISLAMABAD (Web Desk): US Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker congratulated Pakistanis on Independence Day and reaffirmed Washington’s commitment to Pakistan’s progress and prosperity.

Baker congratulated Pakistan on completing 79 years of independence and highlighted the longstanding partnership between the two countries.

She said Pakistan and the United States had developed an enduring relationship based on a shared vision and a commitment to a better future. The US diplomat also reaffirmed Washington’s continued commitment to Pakistan’s progress and prosperity.

US recalls early recognition of Pakistan

In her Independence Day message, Baker recalled that the United States was among the first countries to recognise Pakistan following its independence. She said the relationship between the two countries had since developed into a longstanding partnership.

According to Baker, Pakistan and the United States have continued to work together to pursue shared goals and common interests. She highlighted the importance of cooperation and said the partnership remained focused on the future.

2027 to mark 80 years of Pakistan-US relations

Baker also referred to an important milestone in relations between Pakistan and the United States. She noted that 2027 will mark the 80th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The upcoming anniversary will provide an opportunity to reflect on the long history of cooperation between Islamabad and Washington. Baker expressed enthusiasm about the milestone and the future of relations between the two countries.

Baker highlights shared goals of peace and prosperity

Referring to the Freedom 250 initiatives, Baker said the celebrations highlighted not only America’s journey but also the shared commitment of the United States and Pakistan to peace, prosperity and innovation.

She said both countries were working hand in hand to build a more prosperous future.

The US diplomat emphasised the importance of continued cooperation between the two countries in achieving shared goals. She also reaffirmed Washington’s commitment to supporting Pakistan’s progress.

US reaffirms commitment to Pakistan’s progress

Baker said the United States remains committed to its partnership with Pakistan and to supporting the country’s continued development.

“As you celebrate today, know that the United States remains a dedicated partner in Pakistan’s progress,” she said.

Her message highlighted Washington’s intention to continue working with Pakistan in areas of mutual interest. The statement came as Pakistan celebrated its Independence Day with ceremonies and events across the country.

“Yaum-e-Azadi Mubarak!”

Concluding her message, Baker extended warm Independence Day greetings on behalf of the US diplomatic mission in Pakistan. She congratulated the Pakistani people on the national occasion and wished them well.

Ending her message in Urdu, Baker said: “Yaum-e-Azadi Mubarak!”

The message added to the Independence Day greetings extended to Pakistan by representatives of friendly countries and international partners.
