NADRA starts doorstep service for elderly, disabled citizens
NADRA launches home service for elderly and disabled citizens
The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced a special doorstep service to make identity card services more accessible for elderly and disabled citizens. The initiative is designed to help people who face difficulty travelling to NADRA registration centres due to age, disability, or health-related conditions.
Doorstep service for eligible citizens
According to an official statement issued by NADRA, eligible citizens can now request a trained NADRA biker to visit their homes for identity card renewal or modification services.
The authority stated that the service aims to simplify the registration process for individuals who are unable to travel or wait in long queues at registration centres.
Officials believe the initiative will enhance access to public services while ensuring that elderly and disabled citizens receive the assistance they need comfortably and conveniently.
Cities where the service is available
NADRA said the doorstep service has initially been launched in selected cities across Pakistan.
The facility is currently available in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Taxila, Wah Cantt, Lahore, Karachi, and Hyderabad.

Officials added that the service may be expanded to more cities in the future, depending on public demand and operational requirements.
How citizens can book the service
People who wish to use the doorstep facility can book an appointment through NADRA’s official helpline.
Appointments can be scheduled by calling 051-111-786-100 or the mobile short code 1777.
After receiving a booking request, a NADRA biker will visit the applicant’s home to complete the identity card renewal or modification process. Applicants are advised to keep the required documents ready before the scheduled visit to ensure the process is completed smoothly.
Making public services more accessible
The new initiative reflects NADRA’s efforts to improve service delivery by introducing more citizen-friendly facilities.
For many elderly people and individuals with disabilities, travelling to registration centres can be physically challenging. The doorstep service addresses this issue by bringing essential identity card services directly to their homes.
Officials said the initiative is expected to reduce inconvenience for vulnerable citizens while improving the overall efficiency of public service delivery. The service is also expected to reduce crowding at NADRA registration centres by allowing eligible applicants to complete their applications from home.

Why identity documents matter
A valid Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) is required for many essential services in Pakistan, including banking, healthcare, government assistance, property transactions, and voting. Timely renewal or modification of identity documents helps citizens continue accessing these services without interruption.
By introducing home-based registration services, NADRA aims to ensure that elderly and disabled citizens are not left behind because of mobility challenges. Officials encouraged eligible citizens and their family members to use the facility whenever travelling to a registration centre is difficult.
