NADRA launches appointment booking through Pak ID app
The new service allows citizens to schedule visits to NADRA registration centres instead of waiting in long queues. Applicants can book a suitable slot through the app and visit the office at the scheduled time.
NADRA’s official website confirms that appointment booking through PakID is available for services at NADRA Registration Centres.
The facility is part of NADRA’s broader effort to shift more identity-related services to digital platforms and reduce the need for unnecessary visits to registration centres.
New features added to Pak ID app
NADRA has also released an updated version of the Pak ID application with several new features.
These include online complaints to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), family data correction, signature-related options, and access to digital identity documents.
The latest app update also includes complaint tracking and other improvements aimed at making identity services easier to access.
NADRA spokesperson Syed Shabahat Ali has highlighted the authority’s efforts to turn Pak ID into a central digital platform for identity-related services.
FIA complaints can be submitted online
One of the new features allows users to submit complaints to the FIA through the Pak ID app. The facility is designed to make it easier for citizens to submit and track complaints without having to visit an office.
The app’s latest version includes FIA complaint submission and tracking among its new features. The addition gives users another way to access government services through a single digital platform.
Family record correction made easier
The updated application also provides an option to rectify family data. This can help citizens address certain errors or changes in their family records through the digital system.
NADRA already lists family composition and related services among the facilities available through PakID. The move is aimed at making routine identity-related corrections more convenient for applicants.
Digital identity services expanded
The updated Pak ID app also provides access to digital identity documents. NADRA says its digital identity platform allows users to access verifiable digital documents and use them for identity verification where applicable.
The authority’s digital identity system includes QR-based verification and consent-based data-sharing features. The expansion of these services is part of NADRA’s wider push towards digital identity management.
Citizens can track applications from home
The Pak ID app also allows applicants to check the progress of their identity card applications. Users can log in to the app, select the tracking option, and enter the Tracking ID and PIN provided on their application receipt.

Applicants can also check their application status by sending the Tracking ID through SMS to 8400 or by calling NADRA’s helpline at 1777. This means applicants do not necessarily need to visit a NADRA office simply to find out the status of their application.
NADRA advises timely collection of identity cards
NADRA has also reminded citizens to collect their identity cards after they are issued. Under the authority’s policy, an identity card that is not collected within three months after the final delivery date is destroyed.
In such cases, the applicant has to submit a fresh application and pay the applicable fee again to obtain a new card. Citizens are therefore advised to keep track of their applications and collect their cards within the required period.
More services moving online
NADRA has increasingly shifted identity-related services towards digital platforms.
The official PakID system allows users to apply for identity documents, upload documents, make payments, track applications, and access digital identity services, depending on the service and the applicant’s eligibility.
The latest additions further expand the role of the app in reducing visits to registration centres.
What the new appointment system means
The appointment facility could make visits to NADRA centres more organised for citizens who need in-person services. Instead of spending extended periods waiting at a centre, applicants can schedule a visit through the app and arrive at their allotted time.
However, some identity services may still require physical attendance for biometric verification or other procedures. NADRA’s official guidance states that biometric verification and photographs may require a visit to a registration centre in certain cases.
