Murree Police issue travel advisory for tourists

The district administration and traffic police have been placed on high alert to manage the increasing number of tourists and ensure the smooth flow of traffic across the city. Police officers have been deployed at major roads, intersections and busy tourist spots to assist visitors and reduce traffic congestion.

According to District Police Officer (DPO) Dr. Raza Tanveer, monsoon rain and dense fog have reduced visibility in several parts of Murree, causing traffic to move at a slower pace. Authorities said all major roads leading to Murree remain open, except the Rawalpindi-Murree-Kohala (RMK) Road, where road carpeting work is currently underway.

Tourists have been advised to continue their journey with caution and strictly follow the instructions of the traffic police and district administration. Police have urged drivers to reduce their speed during rain and fog, maintain a safe distance from other vehicles, and avoid overtaking in areas with poor visibility.

Motorists have also been advised not to park unnecessarily along roadsides, as doing so can disrupt traffic flow and increase the risk of accidents. Authorities have asked visitors to follow all traffic rules and avoid rushing while travelling, stressing that careful driving is essential to prevent accidents during the monsoon season.
