Earlier, Momina Iqbal’s lawyer claimed that the actress and the MPA had been friends since 2022. He alleged that Saqib Chaddar had proposed marriage to the actress through her family.
The actress’ lawyer told media that later it became known that the MPA was already married and wanted a third marriage with Momina Iqbal. He said the actress then refused the proposal and ended her relationship with him.
According to the lawyer, the situation worsened after Momina Iqbal got engaged to someone else. He claimed the MPA then started harassing the actress and allegedly threatened her future husband.
The lawyer further stated that a case was also registered against Momina Iqbal’s fiancé. He added that all proofs and details of the alleged harassment had been submitted to NCCIA.
He expressed hope that the actress would receive justice from the authorities. The lawyer also said the actress’ marriage ceremony would take place on its scheduled date.
Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari reacted to the controversy and urged people to speak carefully about the issue. She described the matter as “sensitive” because it involved both a female complainant and a sitting MPA.
“This is a very sensitive matter, so people should speak carefully,” she said while addressing the growing public discussion. She also stressed that the matter should be handled responsibly without rushing to conclusions.
