Maryam Nawaz said the use of political influence for exploiting women was completely unacceptable. She stated that such behaviour could not be tolerated in society and strong legal action would follow.
The chief minister further said that the law was equal for everyone and nobody would receive special treatment. She stressed that every person, regardless of power or status, would be held accountable under the law.

Experts say such public statements can increase confidence among women to report harassment cases without fear. They also believe strict implementation of laws will be important to ensure real change on the ground.
According to media reports, during the Momina Iqbal appearance before the NCCIA, investigating officials questioned the actress about the alleged harassment and the material she had provided. Sources said the inquiry continued as authorities reviewed the evidence presented by both sides.
PML-N MPA Saqib Chaddar also appeared before NCCIA with his legal team. Officials heard statements from both parties as the inquiry moved ahead.
Earlier, Momina Iqbal’s lawyer claimed that the actress and the MPA had been friends since 2022. He alleged that Saqib Chaddar had proposed marriage to the actress through her family.
The actress’ lawyer told media that later it became known that the MPA was already married and wanted a third marriage with Momina Iqbal. He said the actress then refused the proposal and ended her relationship with him.
