Man arrested in Karachi for acid attack on woman near Upper Gizri
Woman suffers burn injuries
According to the FIR, the victim, identified as Mumtaz, is returning home after finishing work when the attack takes place.
She tells police that she is walking through a street near the Munawar Filter Plant at around 1pm when an unidentified man approaches her. The woman alleges that the man throws acid at her before fleeing the scene.
She suffers burn injuries to her face, arms, shoulder, and other parts of her body following the attack. The nature and extent of her injuries are being investigated as part of the case.
Victim files FIR at Clifton police station
Mumtaz registers a First Information Report (FIR) at Clifton Police Station following the incident.
In her statement, she tells police that the attacker fled immediately after throwing acid at her. She also tells investigators that she can identify the attacker if she sees him again.
