Property greed: Husband kills wife and three children in Chiniot

The tragic incident took place in Nekokara village, where police are investigating the deaths of a woman and her three young children.

According to police and local sources, the suspect, identified as Nawaz, allegedly killed his wife with the help of accomplices on August 30.

After the alleged killing, Nawaz reportedly took his three children with him. Police later said the children were also allegedly killed and their bodies were buried in a cemetery.

Police recover bodies from cemetery

A case had already been registered at Sadar Police Station following a complaint by the woman’s father.

The three children were identified as Ali Nawaz, Saba Zahra and Umm Baneen. Police said they were between three and eight years old.

During the investigation, police searched different locations for the missing children. Investigators eventually excavated part of a cemetery, where the bodies of all three children were recovered.

The recovery brought a tragic turn to the investigation and raised further questions about what happened after the woman’s alleged killing.

Land dispute reportedly behind killings

Sources familiar with the case said the dispute was reportedly linked to land owned by the woman.

According to the sources, Nawaz had allegedly asked his wife to transfer the land into his name. She reportedly refused, saying that she wanted the property to remain for the benefit of her children.

The dispute allegedly became heated before the woman was killed.

Investigators are examining the land dispute as a possible motive behind the alleged killings. However, the final motive and circumstances will be established through the ongoing investigation.

Police are also looking into the alleged involvement of accomplices in the woman’s killing.

Initial post-mortem report raises concern
