Libyan military leader meets Field Marshal Asim Munir
Libya’s top military leader meets Asim Munir at GHQ as both sides discuss defence cooperation and regional security. The high-level meeting highlighted the growing defence and diplomatic engagement between Pakistan and Libya. Upon his arrival at GHQ, the Libyan military leader was presented with a Guard of Honour by a smartly turned-out tri-services contingent, reflecting the significance of the visit.
During the meeting, both sides discussed matters of mutual interest, regional security developments, defence cooperation, and ways to further strengthen military-to-military relations between the two countries. The talks focused on expanding collaboration in professional military training, security cooperation, and institutional engagement between the armed forces of Pakistan and Libya.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir reaffirmed the Pakistan Army’s commitment to promoting peace, stability, and constructive engagement with friendly countries. He stressed the importance of continued cooperation to enhance mutual understanding and strengthen defence ties.
Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar appreciated the professionalism and capabilities of the Pakistan Armed Forces. He also acknowledged their contributions to regional peace, security, and stability. Officials said the meeting was part of ongoing efforts to deepen cooperation between Pakistan and partner countries in areas of shared strategic and security interests.
The engagement is being viewed as another step towards enhancing defence collaboration and strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and Libya at a time when regional security cooperation remains a key priority for many countries.
