LHC suspends tribunal order over property given as Haq Mehr
Tribunal order suspended
The Haq Mehr dispute began after the Multan Property Tribunal ordered that possession of a property be handed over to a woman as part of her dower.
The decision was challenged before the LHC Multan Bench by the woman’s father-in-law.

Father-in-law raises legal objection
During the initial hearing, the petitioner’s lawyer, High Court advocate Chaudhry Muhammad Shehzad Aslam, presented arguments before the court.
The lawyer argued that the woman had already approached the Family Court regarding her Haq Mehr before going to the Multan Property Tribunal.
According to the petitioner’s counsel, she allegedly did not disclose the pending Family Court proceedings when the matter was taken before the tribunal.
The Haq Mehr dispute will now be examined further as the High Court considers the arguments from the parties.
High Court issues interim order
Justice Malik Owais Khalid of the LHC Multan Bench heard the initial arguments and suspended the tribunal’s direction regarding the transfer of property possession.
The suspension is an interim measure and does not represent a final decision on the woman’s claim.
The court will consider further arguments before deciding the next step in the Haq Mehr property case.
The Family Court proceedings mentioned during the hearing may also remain relevant as the dispute moves forward.

Notices issued to respondents
The court has issued notices to the woman involved in the case, the local police and the Government of Punjab.
The respondents have been asked to submit their responses.

The Multan Property Tribunal order regarding property possession will remain suspended until the matter is considered further.
Final decision still pending
The latest order does not finally decide whether the woman should receive possession of the property.
