Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Lebanese Armed Forces chief calls on Field Marshal Asim Munir as both sides discuss defence ties and regional security.

Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir held an important meeting with Lebanese Army Commander General Rodolphe Haikal, with both countries agreeing to further strengthen military cooperation and defence relations.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Haikal was presented with a guard of honour by a smartly turned-out contingent of Pakistan’s armed forces upon his arrival at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.

During the meeting, the two military leaders discussed matters of mutual interest, regional security, defence cooperation, and ways to enhance bilateral military relations. The talks focused on expanding professional engagements between the armed forces of Pakistan and Lebanon, increasing training opportunities, and strengthening institutional cooperation.

Field Marshal Asim Munir reaffirmed the importance of Pakistan’s longstanding and friendly relations with Lebanon. He also highlighted the Pakistan Army’s commitment to broadening defence collaboration with the Lebanese Armed Forces.

General Haikal appreciated the professionalism and operational capabilities of Pakistan’s armed forces and acknowledged their contributions to regional peace, stability, and international peacekeeping missions.

Officials said the meeting reflected the growing defence partnership between the two countries and their shared interest in promoting security cooperation. The visit is expected to further strengthen military-to-military relations and open new avenues for collaboration in training, defence coordination, and professional exchanges.
