Lahore Traffic Police suspend 110 driving licences

Lahore Traffic Police have suspended the driving licences of 110 motorists involved in road accidents as part of a major crackdown on negligent and reckless driving across the city.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi said the driving licence of any motorist involved in a fatal or serious non-fatal road accident will be suspended under the new policy.

He warned that anyone caught driving with a suspended licence will face legal action in accordance with the law. According to the CTO, driving licences can be suspended for a period ranging from six months to three years, depending on the nature and severity of the offence.

He added that drivers involved in fatal road accidents must obtain a court order before their driving licences can be restored. The CTO said the campaign targets motorists whose negligence, careless behaviour, or reckless driving leads to road accidents.

He said the initiative is aimed at improving road safety, promoting responsible driving, and reducing the number of traffic accidents across Lahore. Traffic police have urged motorists to follow traffic rules, drive responsibly, and avoid reckless behaviour to help make the city’s roads safer for everyone.
