On the night of the 9th, the city's biggest procession begins. Its traditional route passes through Imambargah Syed Wajid Ali Shah, Mubarik Haveli, Chowk Nawab Sahib, Koocha Qazi Khana, Chauhatta Mufti Baqir, Chowk Kotwali, Kashmiri Bazaar, Sunehri Mosque, Dabbi Bazaar, Gumti Bazaar, Tehsil Bazaar, Bazaar Hakimaan, and Bhaati Chowk.
Traffic heading towards the Azaadi Flyover will be diverted towards the Kacheri area near GC University, while traffic coming towards Ferozepur Road will be sent towards Ganda Nallah. Traffic coming from Multan Road will be diverted to Samanabad via the Double Sarkan ring road.
For those attending in person, designated parking has been arranged. People can park at Nasir Bagh, Mochi Gate Bagh, Data Darbar Eye Hospital, Central Model High School, and Bengali Park, with no vehicles allowed to enter the procession route from any alternate side road.

Other processions on the 9th will move out from Zafar Colony, Wasanpura, Shadman, Green Town, Mughalpura, Saddar Bazaar, and Ferozepur Road, each following its own traditional routes before returning to their starting points.
The Lahore City Traffic Police has deployed 2 Deputy Superintendents of Police, 30 traffic inspectors, 300 traffic wardens, and 12 specialised Traffic Response Unit teams to manage the route and respond quickly if needed.

A complete ban on pillion riding (double riding) on motorcycles will be strictly enforced across all cities in Punjab on the 9th and 10th of Muharram, with only a few essential exemptions allowed.
Citizens are advised to avoid the Walled City area and inner Lahore during procession hours, plan extra travel time, and follow live updates from Lahore Traffic Police before heading out.
