Lahore opens five scooty training schools for women, students

Lahore Traffic Police has expanded its driving and licensing facilities by establishing five dedicated scooty training schools across the city.

The move is aimed at helping students and women develop riding skills and become more confident on the roads.

The five facilities have been established at Abshar Driving School, Liberty Khidmat Markaz, Greater Iqbal Park, Traffic Police Lines Manawan and LOS Ferozepur Road.

The expansion gives aspiring riders more locations where they can receive training and guidance before applying for the required licence. Punjab Police says its traffic system focuses not only on enforcement but also on traffic education, licensing and road safety.

Free scooty training available for women

The LOS Ferozepur Road facility offers free scooty riding training exclusively for women. The facility is designed to give female learners an easier and more comfortable environment to develop their riding skills.

The initiative could also help women who want to use two-wheelers for education, work, and daily travel. For many women, learning to ride can provide greater flexibility in commuting and reduce dependence on other modes of transport.

Women-to-Women service added for female trainees

Lahore Traffic Police is also providing a Women-to-Women service at its training schools. The service is intended to make the learning process more comfortable for female trainees.

Female learners can receive guidance in an environment designed specifically to address their needs during training. The department believes professional training can help improve confidence while also encouraging safer road behaviour.

Car driving training also available

The initiative is not limited to scooty and motorcycle training. Lahore Traffic Police also operates 12 driving schools across the city where citizens can receive car-driving training.

The wider network provides people with opportunities to learn driving skills before becoming regular road users. The department has previously highlighted the importance of driving training, licensing and traffic education as part of efforts to improve road safety.

CTO highlights women’s mobility

CTO Lahore Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi said the department wants to empower women by providing professional driving training and licensing facilities. He said thousands of women had already learned driving through Lahore Traffic Police’s schools.

The department believes easier access to training can encourage more women to learn driving and riding skills. The initiative also links training with the licensing process so that learners can better understand the requirements before applying for a licence.

Gen-Z Scooty Counters introduced for young applicants

Lahore Traffic Police has also established Gen-Z Scooty Counters at licensing centres.

These counters are intended to guide young applicants who want to obtain scooty and motorcycle licences. The new counters are expected to make the licensing process easier for students and other young riders.

Applicants can visit the licensing centres with their CNIC, Form-B, and a parent or guardian for the required process. The facility is particularly aimed at helping younger applicants understand the documents and steps needed for licensing.

More than 172,000 motorcycle licences issued

Lahore Traffic Police has issued more than 172,000 motorcycle licences so far. The department has also issued 6,546 juvenile permits.
