(Web Desk): The government has reduced the kerosene price by Rs3.58 per litre, extending fuel price relief after recent cuts in petrol and diesel rates.

The federal government has announced another reduction in fuel prices by cutting the kerosene price after lowering the rates of petrol and high-speed diesel, providing additional relief to consumers amid changing global oil market trends.

Kerosene price in Pakistan reduced after latest OGRA notification

According to the latest notification issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), the price of kerosene has been reduced by Rs3.58 per litre.

Following the revision, the new kerosene price has been fixed at Rs301.64 per litre, down from the previous rate of Rs305.22 per litre.

The latest reduction comes a day after the government announced cuts in the prices of petrol and diesel as part of its fortnightly fuel price review.

Kerosene remains an important fuel source in many remote and mountainous regions of Pakistan, where it is widely used for cooking, heating, and lighting. The latest price cut is expected to provide some financial relief to households that rely on kerosene for their daily needs.

Petrol and diesel prices also revised in Pakistan

Earlier, the Petroleum Division announced a reduction in the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel for the pricing period beginning August 4.

Under the revised rates, the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs4.08 per litre, bringing the new price to Rs331.95 per litre.

Similarly, the price of high-speed diesel has been cut by Rs2.45 per litre, reducing the new rate to Rs389.93 per litre.

The revised prices have taken effect immediately and will remain applicable until the next fortnightly fuel price review unless the government announces further changes.

Fuel prices in Pakistan are reviewed every two weeks and are determined after considering international crude oil prices, exchange rate movements, import costs, and recommendations submitted by OGRA to the federal government.

The latest reductions reflect recent fluctuations in the global oil market and are expected to ease transportation and operating costs for consumers and businesses, although the overall impact on inflation will depend on future international oil prices and domestic economic conditions.

Consumers and transport operators have welcomed the latest reductions, hoping that continued stability in global energy markets will allow the government to maintain lower fuel prices in the coming weeks.

The government is expected to carry out its next fuel price review in the second half of August, when new prices will again be announced based on prevailing international market conditions and OGRA's recommendations.
