The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast more rainfall in Lahore and several parts of Punjab over the next two to three days as the ongoing monsoon spell continues.

Cloudy weather has persisted over Lahore since morning, and rain is expected in different parts of the city throughout the day. According to the Met Office, intermittent showers are likely to continue over the next few days, bringing relief from the heat but increasing the risk of water accumulation in low-lying areas.

The current temperature in Lahore was recorded at 30°C, while the maximum temperature is expected to reach around 34°C later in the day.

Meanwhile, Islamabad is also likely to receive thunderstorms and heavy rain today, with the monsoon system expected to remain active until tomorrow. The weather department has warned that spells of intense rainfall could affect traffic flow and cause waterlogging in vulnerable areas.

The Met Office said Islamabad's maximum temperature is expected to reach 32°C, while the minimum temperature will remain around 24°C.

Authorities have advised residents to avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rainfall and to remain cautious, especially in areas prone to flooding. Citizens have also been urged to stay away from open spaces, electricity poles, and other exposed locations during thunderstorms and strong winds.

The latest forecast suggests that the ongoing monsoon spell will continue to affect several regions of Punjab, and people are encouraged to follow official weather updates and take necessary precautions to stay safe.
