Karachi traders and transporters have postponed their planned strike after holding a meeting with Sindh Governor Nehal Hashmi. The governor assured them that their issues would be addressed on a priority basis, leading to the withdrawal of the protest call.
The traders had earlier announced the strike in response to rising inflation and a sharp increase in petroleum prices. These economic pressures had affected business operations and transport costs across the city.
Karachi Electronic Dealers Association President Rizwan Irfan confirmed that the strike call was withdrawn after receiving assurances from the governor. He said the government’s commitment to resolving the issues promptly encouraged stakeholders to pause their protest plans.
