Islamabad traffic alert: Major roads to face diversions during foreign delegation movement
The Islamabad Road diversions were scheduled for Sunday, November 1, between 3pm and 6pm. The changes affected Srinagar Highway and several important routes across the federal capital.
Srinagar Highway Traffic to Face Diversions
According to the advisory, Srinagar Highway traffic travelling from Old Toll Plaza towards Serena Chowk could face diversions at different points.
Commuters were advised to use Sohrwardi Road and the service roads in G-8 as alternative routes. The Islamabad traffic plan was designed to manage vehicle movement during the delegation’s visit.
Traffic coming from G-9, Zero Point and Faizabad was advised to use Faisal Avenue. Motorists travelling from Ninth Avenue were asked to take Service Road East.
The Islamabad Road diversions could increase congestion on alternative routes, so drivers were advised to follow traffic police instructions and road signs.
Alternative Routes for Different Areas
People travelling from Koral towards Islamabad were advised to use Old Airport Road, Rawal Road, Murree Road, I.J. Principal Road and Faiz Ahmed Faiz Road.
If Koral Expressway, Murree Road or Club Road faced closures, commuters could use Lehtrar Road and Park Road as alternatives.

The advisory also highlighted Srinagar Highway as one of the key routes where motorists might encounter traffic restrictions during the specified hours.
Citizens Advised to Leave Early
Islamabad Traffic Police urged residents to leave home 20 to 25 minutes earlier than usual to reduce the risk of delays.
According to the Chief Traffic Officer, traffic personnel would remain deployed on major roads to guide motorists and help keep traffic moving.
Commuters were encouraged to check updates before starting their journeys, particularly if their routes passed through affected areas. The Islamabad Road diversions may require drivers to adjust their travel plans.
