Metro Bus service suspended in Islamabad
Authorities said the Islamabad Metro Bus service will remain closed throughout the day due to the arrival of Masoud Pezeshkian Pakistan is hosting on an official visit.
However, the Rawalpindi Metro Bus will continue operating from 6:00am to 7:00pm to reduce inconvenience for passengers.
Partial Metro operations to continue
According to Metro Bus officials, the Metro Bus Islamabad network will remain operational only between Saddar Station and Faizabad.
Services from IJP Road to Pak Secretariat have been suspended until further notice.
Authorities advised commuters to check the latest Islamabad traffic update before leaving home, as the Islamabad Metro Bus service will not operate on affected routes.
Security tightened across the capital
As part of the Iranian President Pakistan visit, all hiking trails in Islamabad have also been closed.
Officials said these restrictions are necessary to ensure security during the visit of Masoud Pezeshkian Pakistan is welcoming with full state protocol.
The Islamabad traffic update also warns motorists to expect temporary road closures and diversions.

Purpose of the official visit
President Masoud Pezeshkian Pakistan is visiting on an official trip aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and regional diplomacy.
Iranian officials said the Iranian President Pakistan visit will also recognize Pakistan’s role in facilitating diplomatic engagement between Iran and the United States.
During the visit, the president is expected to meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and discuss regional cooperation.
Meanwhile, the Metro Bus Islamabad suspension and Rawalpindi Metro Bus operations have been planned to balance security requirements with public convenience.
Authorities said Rawalpindi Metro Bus services will continue on schedule, while Metro Bus Islamabad operations will resume after the visit concludes.
