Authorities in the federal capital Islamabad have started formal enforcement actions against vehicles entering the city without M-Tags, introducing strict checks at major entry routes to ensure full compliance.
According to officials, checkpoints have been set up on three key roads — 9th Avenue, Margalla Avenue, and G-14 — where all incoming vehicles are being inspected. Special teams from the administration and traffic police have been deployed at these locations to stop vehicles without M-Tags and prevent them from entering the city without registration.
Officials said that vehicles found without an M-Tag are being stopped at the checkpoints and fitted with an M-Tag on the spot, a move aimed at reducing inconvenience for motorists. SSP Operations Qazi Ali Raza and SP Dolphin visited several checkpoints to review the ongoing operations and ensure smooth implementation.
Authorities have also confirmed that M-Tag readers installed at 12 entry points across Islamabad have been fully activated, allowing for automatic identification of vehicles without M-Tags. Through this system, all vehicles entering the city are being digitally monitored, and violators are being intercepted immediately.
