Iraq announces new visa regulations for Pakistani pilgrims
Iraq has introduced new visa regulations for Pakistani pilgrims planning to visit religious sites in the country. Iraqi authorities have urged pilgrims and pilgrimage group organizers to strictly follow the updated rules to avoid travel-related difficulties.
Under the new policy, individuals travelling alone on a family visa will not be allowed to enter Iraq. Authorities have also announced that single male pilgrims under the age of 50 will not be permitted entry under the revised regulations.
Officials said visa fees will not be refunded if an application is rejected or if a traveller is denied entry into Iraq. Pilgrims have also been informed that the same visa cannot be used for both Ashura and Arbaeen pilgrimagees.

According to Iraqi authorities, each visa will remain valid for only 30 days. Pilgrims who stay beyond the approved period may face serious consequences, including fines, deportation, and a lifetime ban on entering Iraq. The statement further noted that the passports of Pakistani pilgrims will remain in the custody of Iraqi immigration authorities upon their arrival in the country.
Authorities have advised all intending pilgrims to carefully review the new regulations before making travel arrangements. Organizers of pilgrimage groups have also been instructed to ensure full compliance with the updated requirements. The latest measures are aimed at improving immigration management and ensuring that pilgrims comply with the conditions attached to their visas during their stay in Iraq.
