A special committee comprising senior prosecutors has been formed to closely monitor the investigation and prosecution of the Hina Javed murder case in Rawalpindi.

Punjab Prosecutor General Irfan Sadiq Tarar has directed District Public Prosecutor Rawalpindi Mian Imran Rahim to ensure effective prosecution and close coordination with investigators.

The development comes as authorities move to strengthen the legal side of the high-profile murder investigation and ensure that no important evidence or investigative angle is missed.

Investigation reviewed

District Public Prosecutor Mian Imran Rahim held a special meeting at his office with SP Pothohar Asar Ali, DSP Muhammad Shakeel and Civil Lines Police Station SHO Asif Sajjad.

Deputy District Public Prosecutor Rawalpindi Rehman Shaukat Bhatti also attended the meeting.

Officials reviewed the progress of the investigation and prosecution and examined the available case record, evidence and investigative developments in detail.

New directions issued

The district prosecutor directed the relevant investigation officers to make the probe more effective, comprehensive and scientific.

A detailed line of inquiry was also issued after considering all possible aspects of the evidence. Officials were instructed to ensure that no significant evidence, lead or investigative angle is overlooked during the probe.

Prosecutors to monitor case

Under the directions of the Punjab Prosecutor General, the newly formed senior prosecutors' committee will continuously monitor developments in the case.

The committee will review investigation progress and provide legal guidance to the police investigation team whenever required.

The move is aimed at improving coordination between prosecutors and investigators and strengthening the case as the investigation progresses.
