ISLAMABAD (Web Desk): The government has reduced petrol price and diesel price after a new notification by OGRA, offering temporary relief for the next 24 hours.

Government announces fresh fuel price cut

The federal government has announced another reduction in petroleum prices, giving consumers temporary relief.

According to a notification issued by OGRA, both petrol and diesel have become cheaper. The revised fuel prices Pakistan will take effect from 12:00 AM tonight and will remain applicable for only the next 24 hours.

This is the second fuel price reduction announced within two days, raising hopes that consumers may continue to receive relief if global oil prices remain stable.

How much have prices decreased?

According to OGRA, the petrol price Pakistan has been reduced by Rs3.39 per litre, while the diesel price Pakistan has been lowered by Rs4.07 per litre.

After the latest revision:

  • Petrol: Rs328.56 per litre
  • Diesel: Rs385.86 per litre

The latest petrol price today has been fixed at Rs328.56 per litre, while the diesel price today now stands at Rs385.86 per litre.

Officials confirmed that these revised rates will remain effective for only one day under the latest government notification.

Second fuel price cut in two days

This latest announcement follows another reduction made just a day earlier.

Previously, the Petroleum Division reduced petrol prices by Rs4.08 per litre, while diesel prices were cut by Rs2.45 per litre.

The latest reduction means fuel prices Pakistan have declined twice within a very short period. Many motorists are now waiting to see whether another review will bring further relief or increase prices again.

Relief for motorists and transport sector

The lower petrol price Pakistan is expected to benefit motorcycle riders, private vehicle owners and daily commuters.

Likewise, the reduced diesel price Pakistan could help transport companies, freight operators and businesses that depend on commercial vehicles.

Experts say falling fuel prices Pakistan may lower transportation costs, but the overall impact on consumer prices will depend on how long these reductions remain in place.

What happens next?

The government is expected to review petroleum prices again after the current notification expires.

Consumers are advised to follow official announcements from OGRA because future prices will depend on international oil markets and other economic factors.

Until then, the current petrol price today and diesel price today will remain applicable under the government's temporary pricing decision.

Many consumers hope the recent reductions continue, especially as fuel prices directly affect transportation expenses and the cost of everyday goods.
