Pakistan's National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a flood alert, warning of a significant rise in water flows across major rivers and the risk of flooding in several parts of the country until August 4.

According to the NDMA, high-level flooding has been recorded in the Lehri River at Head Gogi, while the Palkhu Nullah at Wazirabad is experiencing medium-level flooding. Low-level flood conditions have also been reported at Kalabagh, Chashma, Guddu, and Sukkur barrages along the Indus River, as well as at Head Nari on the Nari River.

In Punjab's Sheikhupura district, Muridke Tehsil has been affected after the Dek Nullah overflowed, creating flood-like conditions in nearby areas and raising concerns for local residents.

A high-level delegation visited the affected areas to review relief efforts. The delegation included National Assembly Standing Committee on Water Resources Chairman MNA Rana Ahmed Atique Anwar, NDMA Chairman Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik, Punjab Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique, the Chairman of the Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), and the Lahore Commissioner.

The officials inspected flood relief camps and reviewed the facilities being provided to displaced families. Deputy Commissioner Sheikhupura Rana Adil Tasawar briefed the delegation on the damage caused by flooding and the ongoing rescue and relief operations.

The visiting officials directed authorities to ensure the uninterrupted supply of cooked food, clean drinking water, medical care, and other essential items for flood victims until they can safely return to their homes. Authorities have also urged residents in vulnerable areas to remain alert and follow official safety advisories.
