A sudden fire incident at a private hotel in Lahore’s Gulberg area caused panic on Friday after flames broke out during a private college function, injuring one person and forcing an emergency evacuation.
According to Rescue 1122 officials, the fire erupted while a large number of people were present inside the hotel for an educational event. An emergency alert was immediately issued, and multiple Rescue 1122 teams rushed to the scene to control the situation.

Swift Rescue Operation Prevents Major Loss
Rescue personnel displayed prompt and professional response, safely evacuating all guests and staff from the hotel. Firefighters managed to contain the blaze before it could spread, preventing major damage and potential casualties.
Initial investigations revealed that the fire originated in the hotel’s basement due to a gas leakage, which suddenly intensified and spread smoke throughout the building.
One Person Injured, Condition Stable
One individual sustained severe burn injuries and was immediately shifted to Services Hospital Lahore for medical treatment. Hospital sources confirmed that the injured person, identified as 46-year-old Mubeen, is in stable condition.
Rescue officials added that three other individuals were affected by smoke and heat, but they were safely evacuated and did not require hospitalization. Fortunately, no fatalities were reported in the incident.

Investigation Underway
Authorities stated that a detailed inquiry has been launched to determine the exact cause of the fire and to assess the hotel’s fire safety and gas usage arrangements. The hotel management has been directed to cooperate fully with investigators.

Officials have urged citizens to exercise extra caution when using gas in enclosed spaces and strictly follow safety protocols to prevent similar incidents in the future.
