Everyone must help eliminate hepatitis, says Maryam Nawaz

In her message on World Hepatitis Day, the chief minister called on the nation to renew its commitment to eliminating the disease. She said providing free hepatitis screening and treatment remains one of the Punjab government’s top priorities.

Maryam Nawaz said mobile hospitals are delivering hepatitis screening services to people’s doorsteps, making healthcare more accessible across the province. She added that patients diagnosed with hepatitis are being provided with free testing, diagnosis, and treatment without any financial burden.

The chief minister said the government has imposed strict restrictions on the manufacture and reuse of substandard syringes to help prevent the spread of hepatitis. She also said deep cleaning is being carried out in government hospitals, while health and hygiene protocols are being strictly enforced to improve patient safety.

Maryam Nawaz urged people to undergo timely hepatitis screening, saying early diagnosis can help save lives and reduce the spread of the disease. She stressed that doctors, nurses, the public, and the government must work together to eliminate hepatitis and build a healthier Pakistan for future generations.
