Drivers face licence suspension, warns Lahore Traffic Police
Lahore Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi has ordered strict action against motorists involved in fatal accidents, nonfatal crashes and reckless driving. Under the new policy, drivers found responsible for accidents caused by negligence, carelessness or reckless driving could face the suspension of their driving licences.
According to the new directive, Lahore Traffic Police will suspend the licences of drivers whose irresponsible driving causes accidents. Depending on the seriousness of the offence, licences may be suspended for periods ranging from six months to three years.
The CTO said drivers involved in fatal accidents will only be allowed to restore their licences after obtaining permission from the relevant court. He also warned that anyone caught driving with a suspended licence will face a criminal case.

Shirazi said serious traffic violations not only break the law but also put human lives at risk. He stressed that Lahore Traffic Police will show no leniency towards reckless drivers and will continue taking strict action against traffic offenders.
He added that the department is strengthening the enforcement of traffic laws under a zero-tolerance policy. The main objective is to improve road safety, reduce traffic accidents, and protect the lives and property of citizens across Lahore.
Officials believe the tougher measures will encourage motorists to follow traffic rules more responsibly and help make the city’s roads safer for everyone.
