(Web Desk): Citizens have strongly opposed the proposed daily petrol price adjustment system, warning it will further increase inflation and financial hardship.

The proposed daily adjustment of petrol prices has triggered widespread concern among citizens across Pakistan, with many describing the move as another major financial burden on already struggling households. People fear that frequent fuel price changes will create uncertainty and push the cost of living even higher.

Many citizens expressed disappointment over the plan, saying their salaries and sources of income have remained unchanged while household expenses have more than doubled in recent years. They argued that daily fluctuations in petroleum prices would make it even more difficult for families to manage monthly budgets.

Several residents said the rising cost of fuel has a direct impact on almost every aspect of daily life. Whenever petrol prices increase, transport fares, food prices, delivery charges and the cost of essential goods also rise, leaving consumers with little choice but to bear the additional expense.

Members of the public described the situation as more than just inflation, calling it a serious blow to the purchasing power of ordinary Pakistanis. They warned that many middle-class families are gradually slipping below the poverty line due to increasing living costs and repeated price hikes.

Citizens also voiced frustration over what they called a constant cycle of new taxes, higher prices and growing financial pressure. They urged the government to reconsider the proposal and introduce policies that provide long-term stability in petroleum prices instead of frequent adjustments.

The government is considering a shift from the current fortnightly fuel pricing mechanism to a daily pricing model. However, the proposal has drawn criticism from consumers and industry stakeholders, who believe stable fuel prices are essential for controlling inflation and providing economic certainty.
