CSS 2025 results announced as only 2.67 percent candidates clear exam
The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) has announced the results of the CSS 2025 competitive examination, revealing a very low success rate of only 2.67 percent. Out of 12,792 candidates who appeared in the exam, only 355 were able to clear the written portion.
According to official details, FPSC has recommended the appointment of 170 successful candidates for various government services. This includes 84 male and 86 female candidates, reflecting a nearly equal gender representation among those selected.
The results also highlight the top achievers of the examination. Asid Rafiq secured the first position, followed by Muhammad Mohsin Khalid in second place, while Tariq Hafeez stood third overall.
FPSC further stated that the top 30 position holders have been allocated to the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS) and the Police Service of Pakistan. However, no candidate from the top 30 was allocated to the Foreign Service of Pakistan this year, which has drawn attention among observers of competitive civil service trends.
Regionally, the top 30 candidates include 23 from Punjab, two from Sindh, two from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and three from Balochistan, showing a dominant representation from Punjab in the highest ranks.
The overall results are being seen as a reflection of the highly competitive nature of the CSS examination and the strict evaluation standards maintained by the commission. Education experts say the low pass rate highlights the increasing difficulty level of the exam and the need for stronger preparation among aspirants.
CSS remains one of Pakistan’s most prestigious and challenging examinations for entry into the country’s civil services, attracting thousands of graduates each year aiming for top government positions.
