The second phase of the CM Punjab E-Bike Scheme has received a strong response from students, with 432,000 registrations recorded within just two days.

More than 265,000 students are currently completing the registration process, while over 108,000 applications have already been submitted. Students can apply for the scheme until October 4.

The latest coverage of the scheme highlights its zero-down-payment facility, interest-free financing and monthly payments of around Rs3,000.

E-bike scheme eligibility for students

Applicants must have a Punjab domicile or valid CNIC and be regular students at an HEC-recognised degree college or university.

According to the announcement, applicants must be at least 18 years old, while only one student from each family can receive an e-bike under the scheme.

However, some recent reports cite different eligibility details for the expanded Phase 2 programme. Students should therefore verify the latest requirements through the official Punjab application portal before submitting their forms.

Zero down payment and monthly installment

Under the new arrangement, students will not have to pay a down payment. The Punjab government will cover the interest and insurance costs, while successful applicants will pay Rs3,028 per month.

Students will also receive a helmet and safety rod free of cost. The programme includes two days of e-bike riding training to promote safer use.

E-bike delivery expected within six weeks

Maryam Nawaz has directed officials to complete arrangements for delivering the e-bikes within six weeks after the application process is completed.

The scheme is part of Punjab’s wider push toward affordable electric mobility for students, with recent reports describing Phase 2 as a major expansion of the province’s student e-bike programme.
