(Web Desk): Butchers in Karachi have released Eidul Azha animal slaughter rates, with prices varying for different animals and days of the festival.

Butchers in Karachi have announced the average rate list for animal slaughter services ahead of Eidul Azha, setting different prices for various animals and days of the festival.

According to the Empress Market Meat Merchants Association, the slaughter charge for a cow or heifer on the first day of Eid has been set between Rs 18,000 and Rs 20,000.

For goats, the slaughter rate has been fixed at Rs 4,000 per animal on the first day, while camel slaughter charges are reported to range between Rs 40,000 and Rs 50,000.

Reduced rates on second and third day

The association stated that slaughter rates are expected to decrease by nearly 30 percent on the second and third days of Eidul Azha due to lower demand.

For large animals weighing around 2 to 2.5 maunds, the slaughter fee has been set between Rs 14,000 and Rs 18,000.

For smaller goats weighing around 20 kilograms, charges may range from Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000 depending on size and demand.

Public advised about price variation

Butchers said rates may vary slightly depending on workload, animal size and location across different parts of the city.

Eidul Azha brings a sharp increase in slaughter demand every year, leading to temporary price adjustments in major cities like Karachi. Citizens are advised to confirm rates in advance to avoid any disputes during the festive days.
