(Web Desk): Government raises BISP stipend and education support payments to help families before Ramazan.

Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has increased financial assistance for deserving families ahead of Ramazan.

BISP Chairperson Rubina Khalid officially announced the increase, saying the quarterly stipend under the Benazir Kafalat Programme has been raised from Rs 13500 to Rs 14500. The decision aims to provide relief to low-income families struggling with rising inflation.

In a special interview with the state news agency, Rubina Khalid said the additional payment will be released during Ramazan. She explained that the extra funds will help families manage essential expenses such as food, utilities, and other household needs during the holy month.

She also confirmed that the Benazir Education Stipends have been increased by Rs 500. This step is intended to encourage parents to continue their children’s education and reduce the risk of school dropouts due to financial hardship.

Similarly, the Benazir Nashonuma Programme, which supports pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers, has also received an increase of Rs 500. The programme provides financial aid and nutrition support to improve maternal and child health.

The BISP chairperson said the government remains committed to supporting vulnerable and deserving segments of society. She added that providing maximum relief has become essential as inflation continues to create financial pressure on ordinary citizens.

The increase in BISP payments is expected to benefit millions of families across Pakistan, especially during Ramazan when household expenses typically rise.
