Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) has shortlisted 3,982 candidates for the Graduate Engineer Trainee Program, with 1,700 engineering graduates finally selected for the second batch of the initiative. The program aims to equip young engineers with practical and industrial skills, bridging the gap between academic knowledge and professional expertise.
Officials said a total of 5,300 applications were received online, from which candidates were screened digitally. The final selection was made through a fully transparent digital draw, ensuring fairness and meritocracy.
Of the total seats, 300 were specifically reserved for graduates from Balochistan, all of which have now been filled. The remaining 1,400 slots were allocated to candidates from other provinces and federal territories.
PEC Chairman Waseem Nazir confirmed that each selected graduate will receive a monthly stipend of 50,000 PKR during the six-month professional training program. He emphasized that the initiative is designed to provide hands-on industrial experience and enhance employability among the country’s young engineers.
