The Punjab government has announced the eligibility criteria and distribution schedule for the Ramzan Nigehban Card, a welfare initiative aimed at supporting low-income families across the province during the holy month.

Officials said nearly 94 percent of data collection has been completed so far, while verification work in Rawalpindi, Lahore, and a few other cities will be finalized by February 5. Authorities are confident that the remaining process will be completed on time to ensure smooth distribution.

The program is designed for families earning a monthly income of Rs 45000 or less. Under the scheme, around 42 lakh families across Punjab will receive financial assistance to help them manage rising household expenses during Ramzan.

Government sources stressed that strict verification measures are in place to ensure transparency and fairness. Only poor and deserving families will be included, and any incomplete or outdated data is being quickly updated to avoid delays.
