The Punjab government has approved a Rs 47 billion Ramadan Nigehban Package to support deserving families during the holy month, aiming to provide financial relief and ensure access to essential commodities. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz chaired a meeting to review Ramadan preparations and finalize the public relief measures, confirming the launch of the package.
Under the initiative, 4.2 million families across Punjab will receive Rs 10,000 each. Authorities will issue more than two million Nigehban Cards, which beneficiaries can use to access cash assistance and purchase basic necessities. The amount represents a significant increase from the existing monthly assistance of Rs 3,000 provided to ration card holders.
To facilitate smooth implementation, the government will set up 136 card activation centers across the province. Beneficiaries will also be able to withdraw cash through Bank of Punjab branchless banking agents and ATMs connected to the One-Link network. Officials emphasized that the package aims to reach every eligible family efficiently and transparently.

In addition, the Punjab government will launch a dedicated Ramadan Nigehban Dashboard to monitor the distribution process, verify beneficiaries, and ensure accountability. Authorities said the dashboard will help track real-time disbursement and prevent misuse of funds.
The package is part of the Punjab government’s broader efforts to provide social safety nets and financial support to vulnerable families, particularly during religious occasions such as Ramadan. Officials believe the initiative will ease economic burdens, promote food security, and ensure that needy families can observe the holy month with dignity and peace.
