(Web Desk): Punjab finalizes eligibility rules for Green Tractor Scheme Phase-III to ensure transparent distribution of subsidized tractors to deserving farmers.

The Punjab government has finalized strict eligibility criteria for the Chief Minister Punjab Green Tractor Scheme Phase-III, aiming to accelerate agricultural mechanization and ensure that subsidies reach genuinely deserving farmers across the province.

According to Director Agriculture Extension Chaudhary Khalid Mahmood, only permanent residents of Punjab holding a valid CNIC can apply for the scheme. Applicants must also have verified ownership of at least five acres of agricultural land, a condition that will be thoroughly checked through official revenue records and on-ground verification.

To prevent repeat benefits, farmers who previously received subsidized tractors under Phase-I or Phase-II, or availed assistance through the Wheat Incentive Program, have been declared ineligible. Additionally, applicants who defaulted on the Kisan Card facility will not be allowed to participate in Phase-III.

The Agriculture Department has made it clear that transparency will be strictly enforced. Any mismatch or false information found during verification may result in rejection of the application or withdrawal of the subsidy, even after selection.

Under the scheme, farmers can choose tractors ranging from 50 to 65 horsepower. Tractors obtained through the program must remain registered in the beneficiary’s name for at least three years, and resale during this period is strictly prohibited.

Selection will be carried out through a fully digital balloting system. Successful candidates will be required to deposit Rs 500,000 as their share, along with registration, card, transaction, and number plate charges, within the deadline mentioned in the allotment letter.

The Punjab government says the initiative reflects its commitment to modernizing agriculture, boosting productivity, and supporting small and medium farmers with transparent policies.
