(Web Desk): Balochistan rolls out Benazir Kissan Card to deliver direct financial relief and boost agricultural productivity.

The Balochistan government has officially launched the Benazir Kissan Card, a major initiative aimed at providing timely and transparent financial assistance to farmers across the province.

The programme has been finalised in collaboration with HBL Konnect, ensuring that subsidies and support funds are transferred directly to farmers without delays or middlemen. Officials say the initiative will help strengthen the agricultural sector while reducing the financial pressure faced by local farmers.

The launch was confirmed during a meeting chaired by Balochistan Secretary Agriculture Noor Ahmed Pirkani, where it was decided that farmers’ bank accounts will be opened through HBL to guarantee smooth and accountable disbursement of funds. Senior officials, including Director General Agriculture (Extension) Masood Baloch, attended the meeting.

Under the Benazir Kissan Card, farmers will receive support for essential agricultural inputs such as seeds, fertilisers, pesticides and farm machinery. Authorities believe this assistance will improve crop productivity and encourage modern farming practices in the province.

To simplify access, the government has introduced a dedicated online portal titled “Kissan Balochistan”, allowing farmers to register easily from their homes. Offline registration is also available at district Deputy Directors Agriculture (Extension) offices, while a mobile application linked to the card further streamlines the process.

Officials have stressed that only registered farmers will be eligible to receive financial assistance under the scheme. So far, more than 80,000 farmers have been successfully registered across various districts. In areas where registration progress has been slow, immediate action has been taken against responsible officials to ensure no farmer is left out.

The Benazir Kissan Card marks a significant step toward empowering farmers in Balochistan, improving livelihoods and strengthening food security through targeted and transparent support.
