PTI convoy advances after crossing barricades

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk): The convoy of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur entered Punjab.

PTI supporters, marching towards Islamabad for Imran Khan’s release, have broken through the barricades placed by Punjab police to obstruct PTI’s march.

Sources claimed that thousands of supporters are marching towards capital for PTI founder’s release. They are determined to reach D-chowk in response to their leader s  final call.

According to sources, the incidents of scuffle reported at entry point. The demonstrators pelted stones at police personnel. Consequently, several police officers were wounded.

However, PTI leadership and workers expressed determination to reach the destination and would continue the protest until their demands are met.

The information adviser to KP Chief Minister Gandapur, Barrister Saif stated that we are advancing in line with our plans. He challenged government, saying it has run short of time.

He added that the closure of routes leading to Islamabad and shutdown of routine activities serve as evidence of government’s anxiety due to protest.

"Government should make arrangements of food for police officials as the protest will be continued for many days," he warned.

He further stated that people took to street for restoration of democracy and gaining their democratic rights.
