KARACHI (Web Desk): Schools across Sindh will remain closed on February 4 as the government announced a holiday for Shab-e-Baraat observance.

The Sindh Education Department issued an official notification confirming the holiday. All educational institutions in the province will stay closed on the sacred occasion.

The holiday will apply to both government and private schools. Authorities said the decision was taken to allow families and students to observe the religious night with devotion.

Shab-e-Baraat is a significant night in the Islamic calendar. It is observed between the 14th and 15th of Shaban and is known as the “Night of Records” and “Night of Salvation”.

On this night, people remain awake to pray and seek forgiveness. Many believe it is a time when destinies are written and prayers are accepted ahead of Ramadan.

Mosques remain filled as worshippers offer special prayers and long night vigils. Families also visit graveyards to pray for departed loved ones, creating an atmosphere of reflection and hope.

In Pakistan, Shab-e-Baraat is marked by strong spiritual emotions. The night strengthens the bond between faith, remembrance, and preparation for the holy month of Ramadan.

The holiday allows peaceful religious observance. Families get time for prayer and remembrance. Students can prepare spiritually for Ramadan.
