(Web Desk): Benazir Income Support Program launches scholarships for students aged 8–22, offering up to Rs 5,000 and special incentives for girls.

The Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) has announced the opening of registrations for its educational scholarships, aimed at supporting talented students across Pakistan. Parents or guardians can now enroll their children at the nearest BISP office to avail the scholarships.

To register, parents must bring the child’s B-Form along with a mobile number already registered with BISP. An officer will complete the enrollment process and issue an enrollment slip, which must then be submitted to the child’s school for verification. The class teacher and head teacher’s details are required on the slip. Once verified, it is returned to BISP to finalize the registration.

Eligibility criteria include having a mother enrolled under the Benazir Kafalat Program and children within the designated age ranges: 8–18 years for primary, 13–22 years for secondary, and 13–22 years for higher secondary education. Students must maintain at least 70 percent school attendance, and any school changes must be reported to BISP to continue eligibility.

Scholarship amounts range from PKR 3,000 to PKR 5,000 per student. Additionally, girls completing primary education will receive an extra PKR 3,000 incentive to encourage female education. BISP officials emphasized that the program is designed to promote academic excellence, support low-income families, and motivate students to continue their education.

Parents are urged to complete registration promptly to ensure their children can benefit from this initiative. The scholarships are part of BISP’s broader efforts to enhance educational opportunities for underprivileged students and strengthen human capital development across the country.
