PTI moves Supreme Court over alleged violation of Imran Khan hospital order
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has approached the Supreme Court with a contempt petition over the alleged non-compliance with a court order concerning the hospital transfer of party founder Imran Khan.
The petition asks the top court to initiate contempt proceedings against those allegedly responsible for violating its August 18, 2026 order.
Show-cause notices requested
PTI has requested the Supreme Court to issue show-cause notices to the respondents and alleged contemnors.
The petition also asks the court to direct the respondents to appear personally and explain why action should not be taken against them.
The party has further requested that those found guilty of contempt be punished according to the law.
Request for hospital transfer
Along with the contempt proceedings, PTI has asked the Supreme Court to order Imran Khan’s immediate transfer to Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad.
The petition seeks a medical examination of the former prime minister at the hospital, citing the need to ensure compliance with the court’s directions.
Monitoring court order sought
PTI has also requested the appointment of a court officer or a local commission to monitor implementation of the Supreme Court’s order.
The move is aimed at ensuring that the court’s directions regarding Khan’s medical treatment and possible hospital transfer are properly followed.
Case hearing postponed
The contempt petition was filed by lawyers Uzair Bhandari and Salman Akram Raja on behalf of PTI.
The Supreme Court has already adjourned the related case until September 16. The latest petition could add another legal dimension to the ongoing dispute over Imran Khan’s medical care and transfer.
