ISLAMABAD (Web Desk): New estimates for the NFC Award Pakistan suggest that more than Rs8,200 billion could be transferred to provinces under the upcoming federal budget Pakistan.

As budget preparations continue, officials are working on revenue projections and spending plans for the next fiscal year. The proposed provincial funds transfer is expected to remain one of the largest components of the federal budget Pakistan and will play a key role in financing provincial governments.

According to preliminary estimates, the Punjab NFC share is expected to exceed Rs4,000 billion. Punjab is likely to receive the largest allocation under the NFC Award distribution due to its population size and revenue-sharing formula.

Sindh, KP and Balochistan Also Expected to Receive Major Funds

Officials estimate that the Sindh NFC allocation could exceed Rs2,000 billion in the next fiscal year. The projected Sindh NFC allocation is expected to support development projects, public services and provincial expenditures.

Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa funds are estimated to exceed Rs1,300 billion. These Khyber Pakhtunkhwa funds are expected to help finance infrastructure, social welfare and administrative spending across the province.

The Balochistan NFC share is projected to be around Rs750 billion. Policymakers believe the Balochistan NFC share will remain important for development initiatives and economic growth in the province.

Ministry Reviewing Revenue Projections

The Ministry of Finance Pakistan is currently reviewing fiscal estimates and revenue forecasts before finalizing the budget. Officials say the Ministry of Finance Pakistan is closely examining financial data to ensure realistic projections for the coming year.

The projected provincial funds transfer under the NFC Award Pakistan reflects the importance of revenue sharing between the federal and provincial governments. The NFC Award distribution remains a critical mechanism for ensuring provinces receive resources for governance and development.

Current Year Transfers May Be Lower

Officials indicated that actual transfers during the current fiscal year may remain below Rs8,000 billion despite earlier projections. The Ministry of Finance Pakistan had allocated Rs8,205 billion for NFC transfers this year, but final disbursements will depend on overall revenue collection.
