The accused, identified as Sheikh Waseem, is said to have taken gold from several jewelers in Lahore before fleeing the city. His sudden disappearance triggered panic among traders in the busy Ichhra market.
Sources say multiple cases were registered against the suspect at Ichhra Police Station. At least ten complaints were filed after jewelers accused him of cheating them and running away with large quantities of gold.
Police officials said they used modern technology and sensitive intelligence to trace the suspect’s movements. After a careful operation, he was arrested in Islamabad without resistance.

One separate case was filed by a citizen named Noor ul Ain. In that complaint, the accused was alleged to have fled with gold worth Rs90 million, adding to the seriousness of the charges.
Police have urged citizens and traders to immediately report any suspicious activity. Officials say timely information can help stop such crimes before losses grow bigger.
