(Web Desk): PM Shahbaz Sharif meets KP CM Suhail Afridi to strengthen security, development, and federal-provincial cooperation in the province.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif met with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Suhail Afridi at the Prime Minister’s House to discuss security, development, and closer federal-provincial cooperation in the province. The meeting emphasized the importance of joint efforts between the federal and provincial governments to maintain law and order and improve public welfare.

The meeting was attended by key officials, including PM’s Political Affairs Advisor Rana Sanaullah, Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Engineer Amir Maqam, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, and KP Finance Advisor Muzammil Aslam.

During the discussion, PM Shahbaz Sharif highlighted the need for the provincial government to strengthen its counter-terrorism institutions and increase efforts to ensure peace in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He emphasized that the provincial government has constitutional authority and must focus on improving healthcare, education, and overall welfare for the people of KP.

The Prime Minister also assured that the federal government will continue supporting KP’s development projects, infrastructure improvements, education, health, and employment opportunities within its jurisdiction. He stressed that close coordination between the federation and provinces is essential for national progress, stability, and prosperity.

CM Suhail Afridi expressed condolences over the recent Balochistan incident and briefed the Prime Minister on local challenges, including responses to terrorist threats. He clarified that no discussions were held regarding meetings with PTI founder and highlighted the importance of addressing public concerns over local development and security.

Federal Minister Amir Maqam added that the Prime Minister invited CM Afridi to discuss provincial issues, noting that politics should not hinder national interests. Both leaders agreed that regular meetings and continued collaboration are necessary to ensure Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s peace, development, and prosperity.
