Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz inaugurated a new Daanish School in Mankera, Bhakkar, and launched the School Meal Program at Government Primary School Kisanwala, emphasizing education and proper nutrition as key to children’s future.
During her visit, she upgraded Government Girls Primary School Kisanwala to an elementary school and immediately promoted the elementary schools in Kari and Noorpur Shah to high school level, issuing orders for swift implementation.
Maryam Nawaz also distributed lunch boxes, toured classrooms, and praised the innovative desks made from recycled milk cartons, highlighting their durability and environmental benefits. At Daanish School Mankera, she visited the computer lab, library, and girls’ hostel, celebrated student birthdays, and motivated children to study hard, stay confident, and pursue their goals.
Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat explained that the program recycles over 200,000 milk packs into desks, notebooks, and pencils, combining education with sustainability. Currently, 13,197 students are enrolled across 20 Daanish schools, while the School Meal Program is operational in 8,319 schools across 13 districts, boosting student enrollment by 28 percent.

Maryam Nawaz also condemned recent terrorist attacks in Balochistan and expressed condolences to the families affected by the Lodhran bus-truck collision, calling for stronger security measures to protect citizens.
Officials said these initiatives aim to improve literacy, provide nutritious meals, and create an environment where children can learn safely and effectively, reflecting the government’s commitment to education, child welfare, and sustainable development.
