Pakistan welcomes Syrian, Malaysian ministers for key meetings
Pakistan welcomed senior officials from Syria and Malaysia as both countries sent their ministers to Islamabad for separate official visits.
Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan Al-Shaibani began an official visit at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. Malaysian Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail also arrived for a two-day visit.
The visits come as Pakistan continues efforts to strengthen relations with important regional partners. Both visiting ministers are expected to hold meetings with senior Pakistani officials.

Syrian foreign minister begins Pakistan visit
Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan Al-Shaibani arrived in Islamabad with a high-level official delegation.
Officials from Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs received him at Islamabad International Airport. The visiting minister was welcomed by the additional secretary for the Middle East.
During his stay, Pakistan and Syria are expected to discuss the full range of their bilateral relations.

He is visiting Pakistan at the special invitation of Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi. Minister of State for Home Affairs Talal Chaudhry received the Malaysian minister at Islamabad International Airport.
The Islamabad chief commissioner and inspector general of police, along with other senior officials, were also present at the airport.
The warm reception reflected the importance Pakistan attaches to its relationship with Malaysia.
During the visit, Saifuddin Ismail is scheduled to meet Pakistani leaders and senior officials.
