Islamabad (Web Desk): Pakistan and the US have agreed to launch joint operations against fake visa networks as both sides step up efforts to stop illegal immigration.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi shared this during a meeting with Acting US Ambassador to Pakistan Natalie Baker. The discussion focused on closer cooperation to tackle illegal migration and strengthen bilateral ties.

The interior minister said the government has enforced a strict “zero-tolerance policy” against illegal immigration. He stated that firm action has already led to a 47% decline in such cases.

According to the interior ministry, both sides agreed to improve coordination on pre-immigration clearance systems. They also discussed expanding cooperation in law enforcement training, especially for police personnel.

A major decision from the meeting was to start joint operations under detailed SOPs against groups involved in fake and fraudulent visa activities.

Naqvi said agent mafias and facilitators of illegal migration would not be spared. He welcomed US support and said he was personally monitoring actions against fake visa networks.

Calling illegal immigration a serious challenge, he added that Pakistan’s passport system has been made foolproof using modern technology. He stressed that those creating or using fake documents should face strict action without leniency.
