In a heated exchange with a reporter, Wahab was asked about the ongoing sewage crisis at NIPA, where roads were blocked by residents protesting.

Wahab responded by criticizing the reporter’s approach and said, "Focus on the question, not speeches." He emphasized that he, as part of the government, took responsibility for the situation and would not engage in the blame game.
"I could have cancelled this press conference, but this is my city, and I will take responsibility," he added.
He acknowledged the protests, stating that the road blockage was a way for the people to draw attention to their grievances.
