Iranian president Masoud Pezeshkian arrives in Pakistan for key talks
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian arrived in Pakistan on Monday for an official visit at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, marking an important step in efforts to deepen ties between the two neighboring countries.
President Pezeshkian landed at Nur Khan Airbase aboard a Meraj Airlines flight, where he was warmly received by President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. The high-level welcome reflected the significance both countries attach to their longstanding relationship.
According to Pakistan’s Foreign Office, the Iranian president is accompanied by a senior delegation and is scheduled to hold a series of important meetings with Pakistan’s top leadership. During his visit, he will meet President Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Senate Chairman, National Assembly Speaker, and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar.
The discussions are expected to focus on a wide range of issues, including Pakistan-Iran relations, regional developments, and matters of mutual interest. Both sides will review progress in bilateral cooperation and explore new opportunities to strengthen partnerships across various sectors.
Special attention will be given to expanding trade, enhancing energy cooperation, improving border security, and promoting people-to-people contacts. The two countries are also expected to exchange views on regional connectivity initiatives and key international issues.
