Islamabad (Web Desk): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has informed the Supreme Court that he has been left with only 15% vision in his right eye.

The claim was made in a seven-page medical report submitted by his lawyer, Salman Safdar, after visiting him at Adiala jail.

The court had appointed Safdar as “amicus curiae” or “friend of the court” and directed him to meet the former prime minister and submit a report. During the meeting, Imran shared details about his eye condition and medical treatment.

According to the report, Imran said he was diagnosed with a blood clot in his right eye that caused serious damage. Despite receiving treatment, including an injection, his vision did not fully recover, and now only 15% remains.

The report states that until October 2025, Imran had normal 6 x 6 vision in both eyes. However, he later started experiencing blurred and hazy vision. He claimed he repeatedly informed the then jail superintendent, but no timely action was taken.

Imran further said that he suddenly suffered a complete loss of vision in his right eye. An ophthalmologist from Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Dr. Muhammad Arif, later examined him and confirmed the presence of a blood clot.

Barrister Safdar wrote in his report that Imran appeared “visibly perturbed and deeply distressed by the loss of vision and the absence of timely and specialized medical intervention.” He added that Imran’s eyes were watery during the meeting, and he seemed physically uncomfortable.

The PTI founder also claimed that for nearly three months, he was only given eye drops, which did not improve his condition. He believes this delay led to serious and permanent damage.

He further told the “friend of the court” that his personal doctors, Dr. Faisal Sultan and Dr. Asim Yusuf, were earlier allowed to visit him, but later requests for medical consultations were ignored.

PTI leaders have strongly criticized the authorities, alleging negligence in providing proper medical care. Imran has reportedly called for registering a case against the former Adiala jail superintendent over the matter.
